The Menu Language | booklet design

The food industry has been evolving rapidly with a desire to meet consumer demands. New York has become a unification of various cuisines, eclectic styles and emerging trends. A transformation towards richer content with a simpler, clean aesthetic is observed frequently. In order to create a unique experience, restaurants are motivated to provide an option for every taste and style. As the food transforms, menus strongly become the core identity of restaurants. Not only do they provide information about the dishes, however they give further insight about the preferences of people. This project is a collection of 15 menus that have been collected from the top brunch locations in Manhattan, in the 21st century New York. The menus have been selected based on an algorithm of highest rated and most reviewed restaurants, serving breakfast/brunch dishes. Within this selection the viewer will get to explore how the menu communicates, through various content and stylistic choices.
